It sounds like this is a DNS issue (domain name server).  If there DNS
went down, I cannot believe it is not back up by now.  You should log
in to your Network solutions account and reset your DNS manually. 
Yeah, they should have notified you, but if your domain is down, you
would not be able to recieve email w/ that address.  They may have
lost your contact info too.  Sounds screwy to me....
