That's mostly what I am using since the ldap server is remote and
headless as all my servers are and any server should be :)

Have to check that out, thanks for the recommendation. I wasn't really
using ldapsearch for backups, just for searching and other purposes.
Likely can use slapcat for that, have to explore that tool and the rest
of the ldap command line tools.
