When I asked why they said "we don't want to have to pay county property tax on the boat". I guess the watercops here aren't very concerned. The only time I've ever seen a watercop active in Georgia waters, it was when 3 Hispanic fishermen were feeding a friendly dolphin. I only mention that they were Hispanic because I'm fairly sure they had no idea they were doing anything wrong. I don't think feeding dolphins is against the law south of the border.
I do have registration but painted over the old one an haven't installed the new one yet. I suspect I won't given that no one seems to care. By the way, when I lived in VA, there was no registration requirement for documented boats, but that was 20+ years ago.
