LMMS already ships with over 200 LADSPA plugins which are fantastic. To
ship with more requires the LADSPA plugin to be compiled for that platform
so if you want inclusion of a particular plugin we may want to consider
pulling its source code in at compile time which is working very well
already for the ones we have.
The issue with this request is you are asking to include plugins that are
known to break, so the #1 priority would be to fix those bugs and since we
already have many bugs that are much higher priority we would need help
from community members like you to resolve these bugs or provide insight as
to why they may be crashing.
imo we need to look into this, and see if these stand-alones could be

I've proposed shipping some default VSTs too but be very cautious proposing
this because it requires the VST to be a clean-room GPL VST which is
tremendously difficult to find. This is because the Steinberg headers are
proprietary so any VSTs built against them break our license so they cannot
be easily bundled (they could be an add-on pack, but they coudn't be part
of the GPL license agreement).
I contacted a few prominent "free" VST authors to see if they'd give us a
GPL build but they want to be compensated financially for this (and I don't
necessarily blame them as it would dip into their advertising revenue).
Even then, we'd be non-clean-room code since the author compiled against
Steinberg headers. It's a bit of a slippery slope. Google the search term
"GPL VST" to get some more information on how difficult this is. It seems
possible, but you might want to stick with just LADSPA plugins for now
until we find some more GPL VST candidates.
So, yes, please (anyone) help with these plugins and please research and
help fix the bugs. Then once they're stable we can talk about pulling
their source code in at compile time.
