Yes. This is a major reason I don't use Ubuntu as my primary Desktop,
especially for music production. I never had luck mixing audio production
with things like YouTube and flash. This works fine on Windows and OSX but
I could never get it working without crashes in Ubuntu.
But please be careful before blaming LMMS. Linux sound issues have been
well documented over many many years countless forums and PulseAudio is
often a culprit (I cannot explain technically why this is the case --
sorry).
So before suggesting a major bug with LMMS causes the static or pops/clicks
see what professional Linux musicians use and approach from that angle.
I'm not proud of this, but my tracks are all composed on a Windows machine
(which has its own set of issues). I'm working to get LMMS more stable on
OSX to make that an option too since most professional musicians I meet
favor Apple for some reason. :)
When I did use Linux exclusively I had to switch the system to ALSA and
this would cause undesirable results when using Flash so I'm not sure how
to fix your problem but I want to re-insure that it's a common problem with
Linux and may not be related to LMMS specifically.
