You use the product that has superior functionality and
works for you now. Why would anybody choose an inferior 
library and then have to waste resources to enhance it 
just because it MAY become the standard in the future. 

What if Sun doesn't enhance it anymore, or what if they
do and you have to make sweeping changes to all those
enhancements you wasted your resources on.

In two years time some other new tool may become all the
rage. "4LogJ" or some "Dot Net" exotica may take
the market by storm. :) IMHO the software industry is too
volatile to make plans for the future.
