Here's a lesson on not skim-reading too fast. First time through, I read
this as "Dad's Army", and nearly choked on my coffee in disbelief, since
Dad's Army is rebroadcast almost continually on Sunday evenings and weekday
afternoons by the BBC, and has been throughout my living memory.
I don't like the show much, but have still seen every episode simply due to
its unavoidability.
And there's another thought. If the BBC took Dad's Army off entirely for 5
years, how many other archived classics would they be able to broadcast
instead?
On another note rasied by the same thread, is it in programmers' natures to
be obsessive about owning/collecting/archiving things? I mean, I have a very
strong (and unaffordable[0]) desire to own everything Star Trek related on
video at present, and there's plenty of other things I'd like to own in the
same way too. And judging by posts to this thread, I'm not alone.
