Hello,

I've been working with LTSP for a few days now and am very impressed with
it so far. Congratulations on a great system.

I am currently trying to use the latest drivers from NVidia on my DCs.
I've read the HOW-To on the web site, and it is helpful, but it leaves
much detail out about building the drivers for the target kernel.

There are two options offered by the How-to. 1) Build a lts bootable
kernel suitable for the driver you have, or 2) Build a driver for the
distributed tlsp kernel.

I currently am running RH 7.1 with 2.4.2 kernel on the server, which is
where I am building kernels from. Unfortunately, both the ltsp
documentation and the HOW-to on the web site are not detailed enough
describing kernel configuration and are sketchy with respect to
mknbi-linux. Result : Booting stops with a message :

Warning: unable to open an initial console.

I know I've missed something somewhere.

Both option #1 and option #2 require 'make [x]config' on the kernel. Some
of the documentation seems to refer to premade linux config files
somewhere, but I can't seem to find them, or don't recognize them.

So, generally, can anyone point me to the .config files? and
specifically, does anyone know why my kernel would end with the "unable to
open initial console" message?

Thanks!

-don
