I have been using my boot floppy on my main PC as it has a PCI NIC and it was a supported one. ( 192.168.1.2 ) The PC I am using as a server for LTSP is the one we have been discussing. ( 192.168.1.3 )
To see if there is any way the problem is with the boot floppy I booted my main PC normally and installed the tftp test client on it, fired it up and this is what happened # tftp 192.168.1.3 tftp>get junk Transfer timed out tftp>quit On the server I was running tcpdump and got # tcpdump -i eth0 tcpdump: listening on eth0 22:00:18.726813 norman.home.user.filenet-nch > norman3.home.user.tftp: 16 RRQ "junk" (DF) 22:00:18.726903 norman3.home.user > norman.home.user: icmp: norman3.home.user udp port tftp unreachable (DF) [tos 0xc0] 22:00:23.725516 norman.home.user.filenet-nch > norman3.home.user.tftp: 16 RRQ "junk" (DF) 22:00:23.725599 norman3.home.user > norman.home.user: icmp: norman3.home.user udp port tftp unreachable (DF) [tos 0xc0] 22:00:27.388423 arp who-has norman3.home.user tell norman2.home.user 22:00:27.388515 arp reply norman3.home.user is-at 8:0:9:48:ae:0 22:00:28.724914 norman.home.user.filenet-nch > norman3.home.user.tftp: 16 RRQ "junk" (DF) 22:00:28.724997 norman3.home.user > norman.home.user: icmp: norman3.home.user udp port tftp unreachable (DF) [tos 0xc0] 22:00:33.724308 norman.home.user.filenet-nch > norman3.home.user.tftp: 16 RRQ "junk" (DF) 22:00:33.724390 norman3.home.user > norman.home.user: icmp: norman3.home.user udp port tftp unreachable (DF) [tos 0xc0] 22:00:38.723706 norman.home.user.filenet-nch > norman3.home.user.tftp: 16 RRQ "junk" (DF) 22:00:38.723795 norman3.home.user > norman.home.user: icmp: norman3.home.user udp port tftp unreachable (DF) [tos 0xc0] Don't know if this helps tia, norm _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
