What you *could* do would be to use a DOS floppy with:

Crynwr packet drivers - ftp://ftp.crynwr.com/drivers
DOS VNC viewer - http://c0w.inode.at/mjy/dosvnc.html

and set up the LTSP server to serve up VNC sessions -
http://www.ltsp.org/contrib/ltspvnc.html

You could probably even put this on the flash in a ThinkNIC, and boot
off of that too.
