Ok, I just have to ask. Why use LTSP for this purpose? There are several very good thin network booting solutions designed for MythTV. I've used a couple of them but I think the one closest to what it sounds like you are after is MiniMyth (http://www.linpvr.org). Non-via hardware can be used by simply replacing the boot kernel and the X-Server.
Another option is KnoppMyth if you don't want network booting for the frontend media terminals (http://mysettopbox.tv/knoppmyth.html). Do remember that you'll need client PC's of at least 1GHz to decode high quality DivX or Mpeg2 video, nice VIA C3 systems without a CD or HDD are ideal for this. - -- /Anthony Whitehead Unix Sysadmin PGP Key: http://www.solace.mh.se/~ant/ant.pubkey 1024D/1963012A 49C3 A871 43A8 B912 12D2 046E 8FCC 6062 1963 012A - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFA1hgGj8xgYhljASoRAsm5AJ4sEOMztoyTLTyj2Q70kibO8iUByQCgkPKL vwfijwT34w01K699GXb9KSI= =iSoW -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by The 2004 JavaOne(SM) Conference Learn from the experts at JavaOne(SM), Sun's Worldwide Java Developer Conference, June 28 - July 1 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA REGISTER AND SAVE! http://java.sun.com/javaone/sf Priority Code NWMGYKND _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
