It's the one that comes with Fedora Core 6.

I don't know what the terminal has for video ram, but it apparently has 32 mb
of ram in total. It's a Neoware Capio 616. I have no idea what it has for a
video chipset or anything else like that. Is there a way to ask the server to
report what's connected and what drivers it is using?

I tried your suggestions.

First, I added these two lines to lts.conf:

        USE_NFS_SWAP = Y
        SWAPFILE_SIZE = 64m

but it didn't seem to make any difference.

The screen resolution is 1024x768. When it is set for that when I start the
Openoffice slide show, the whole screen goes black and that's it. The only way
to regain control is to reboot the terminal.

When I set the resolution to 800x600 and start the slide show, my desktop
disappears, with the exception of the bottom panel. (I just have one Gnome
panel on my desktop at the bottom.) Anyway, my desktop goes black but the
panel remains. Everything freezes and the only way to regain control is to
reboot the terminal.

When I set the resolution to 640x480, my desktop disappears and the slide show
actually starts running just like it is supposed to, but on the second slide it
stalls and sits until I reboot the terminal. The slides I was using to test
were very simple -- just a single word on each one.

I believe that we're on the right track here, as the behaviour changes and
appears to improve with each reduction in resolution; at least the activity
gets further before it locks up.

The interesting thing is that my desktop appears to work fine otherwise. I
haven't tried anything else full-screen yet to see if it will lock up, but
everything that I have tried running in a window works fine (so far). Does it
somehow require more ram to display a full-screen picture than it takes to
display a full-screen desktop with windows open?

Thank you very much for your suggestions. Any further ideas are most welcome.
