Perhaps you have to look at your lts.conf?  Did you change something in 
this file?

I remember I had seen this error

 Error: Ioctl/1.1a failed: Bad file descriptor

after changing something in my lts.conf.

So for testing  you can switch it off (rename it like ltsold.conf).
