The desktop version is normally recommended for LTSP servers, installed from the alternate CD image, as the appropriate LTSP setup scripts are included in that installer. Nevertheless, the appropriate packages can be installed and manually configured from any of the Ubuntu installer images. Also note that all the Ubuntu installer CD images come in x86 (32-bit) and x86_64 (64-bit) images. If your hardware is 64-bit capable, which virtually all new x86 hardware is, and you have successfully installed from the x86 Desktop CD, then it is worth trying the x86_64 alternate or Desktop installers. Have you tried the x86_64 version of Karmic Desktop? db ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Return on Information: Google Enterprise Search pays you back Get the facts. http://p.sf.net/sfu/google-dev2dev _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
