Hi David,

Well, I had an excellent day with LTSP (for a change). I had been booting
from a cd and was thinking there was a lot of work to get the clients to
boot from the network. Wow was I wrong. Sort of stumbled upon it by
accident that all it takes is changing the boot order in the bios. So, I
went through about ten machines and all except two are booting directly to
the network.

Then the boss (the owner of the school started using the lab from an old
Dell client station and was blown away with how fast it was. It used to be
so slow. Well he was so impressed he started dragging every pc and laptop
out that he could get his hands on and I got about 8 abandoned machines
going.

But the best story was when I came across two basically stripped out pcs.
They had no hard drives, no memory, holes where the floppy used to be, and
no history about what was wrong with them. I found a proper memory stick
and threw it in one and started it up. Wouldn't you know it went right into
a network boot in a snap. I had never done a diskless machine before and
tonight I got my first two built. Way cool.
