Hey Matt, Thanks for the reply again.

I installed it late last year and maybe I didn't update the chroot
properly. I'm not all that well acquanted with it either. In your code on
the chroot, you are using a proxy. We don't so do I just leave that config
off or do I substitute our server's IP?

http_proxy=http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80<http://wf1.thegrid.org.uk:80>

apt-get update

apt-get upgrade
apt-get install gnome-session-fallback ubuntu-restricted-extras firefox
hydrogen mypaint audacity vlc tuxmath epoptes-client tuxpaint scratch
