Well hopefully you can gain access to the subreddit. I have just subscribed it
and I noticed that there are 8 users currently in there, the last post was 28
days ago! Clearly people want the subreddit, we just need to make it more
active.

One way I think we could gain some publicity is to talk to the guys from The
Linux Action show, perhaps we can tell them that there is going to be a new
leash of life on the r/Lubuntu subreddit, and that the Lubuntu Comms Team are
(sort of) going to be the main mods. Also I think telling them about Lubuntu
101 would be a great idea too.

I will contact them if everybody thinks it is a good idea so feedback on this
idea would be preferred.

Thanks for the response guys,
I don't have a problem with keeping the "official" channels the way they are
now. But yes Dan, the more exposure, the better I say. Even if it's just a
place to gather, talk about Lubuntu, and show others what this project is all
about.

As far as the mods go, there is only one right now: rafaellaguna. He has no
real activity, so I'm not sure if it's an alternate account for another user or
what.

The creator of the Lubuntu sub is a guy/gal named kanliot, and they seem pretty
active, but it doesn't look like they are a MOD.
If I don't hear back from rafaellaguna, I'll try to get access to the sub by
declaring it abandoned by the current MODS (there is a process to do this,
which I've been a part of for the Mining subreddit).

I hope to get some more discussion and activity surrounding Lubuntu this way.
Ben

Hey everyone,

Just want to say that this is a great idea, using Reddit for Linux/Ubuntu based
stuff has already proven to be a great hit and now that Lubuntu is on there our
communication and projects will only get better.

Who are the MODS?

Hello Ben,

Thanks a lot for your email and it is great to read from someone on the list
and share some ideas over here :D please, keep them coming.Sounds good idea :)
For me, I don't have any account on Twitter nor Reddit, just Facebook and
Google+ and not planning to expand my Social Networking Activities at the
moment because my current projects and activities keep me busy.

I would suggest to go for it if you have an account over there. IMHO, let's
keep our 'official channels' [1] as they are for the time being but I don't
mind to have unofficial sites, etc etc. The more, the better. After all, our
mission here is to reach to everyone everywhere :D

There is someone I know who have an account on Reddit. His name is Daniel
McGuire and he is helping me with some projects like WOW Lubuntu. As far as I
remember, his email got hacked and I don't have his Email but we are chatting
from time to time on Facebook. I will have a chat with him :)

Good luck and thanks again :)

Not sure how many of you are active redditors, but, I figured it may be worth
while to get exposure there, as there is quite a sizable linux community there.
There is already a subreddit at http://www.reddit.com/r/lubuntu
The sub seems to be dormant or dead with only one mod, that doesn't appear to
be too active. I've sent him a message to try to get more mods to stimulate
discussion there and reenergize the sub.

Hopefully I hear back, and then we can add this to our arsenal of communication
to get the word out about our favorite distro.
Thoughts?
