By that do you mean me and Ben become the the r/Lubuntu Mods? If that is the case I am up for that :)
@amjjawad Just use this email from now on to contact me ([email protected]) Follow me at: Twitter Date: Mon, 28 Jan 2013 11:24:37 -0800 Subject: Re: [Lubuntu-comms] Reddit activity. From: [email protected] To: [email protected] CC: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] Sounds good to me :). I'm excited to dive back into helping Lubuntu grow, since I've been kind of a lurker for so long. Need to brush up on my Linux skills so I can be more of a help in the testing/development department also. Karl Anliot is Lubuntu Former Wiki and Documentation Team Leader. Rafael is one of the most active member and the most busier so it is not that easy to catch up with him but definitely not impossible. I have CC'ed him just in case :) Karl is taking a break right now and we do hope he will be back to action soon! @DanWhy not team up with Ben and be our guys over there? you two are more than enough at the moment to show how Lubuntu is great to the world and by time, you will get more :) On Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 10:51 PM, Ben Parrish <[email protected]> wrote: Thanks for the response guys, I don't have a problem with keeping the "official" channels the way they are now. But yes Dan, the more exposure, the better I say. Even if it's just a place to gather, talk about Lubuntu, and show others what this project is all about. As far as the mods go, there is only one right now: rafaellaguna. He has no real activity, so I'm not sure if it's an alternate account for another user or what. The creator of the Lubuntu sub is a guy/gal named kanliot, and they seem pretty active, but it doesn't look like they are a MOD. If I don't hear back from rafaellaguna, I'll try to get access to the sub by declaring it abandoned by the current MODS (there is a process to do this, which I've been a part of for the Mining subreddit). I hope to get some more discussion and activity surrounding Lubuntu this way. Hello Ben, Thanks a lot for your email and it is great to read from someone on the list and share some ideas over here :D please, keep them coming.Sounds good idea :) For me, I don't have any account on Twitter nor Reddit, just Facebook and Google+ and not planning to expand my Social Networking Activities at the moment because my current projects and activities keep me busy. I would suggest to go for it if you have an account over there. IMHO, let's keep our 'official channels' [1] as they are for the time being but I don't mind to have unofficial sites, etc etc. The more, the better. After all, our mission here is to reach to everyone everywhere :D There is someone I know who have an account on Reddit. His name is Daniel McGuire and he is helping me with some projects like WOW Lubuntu. As far as I remember, his email got hacked and I don't have his Email but we are chatting from time to time on Facebook. I will have a chat with him :) Good luck and thanks again :) [1] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/ContactUs On Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 9:08 PM, Ben Parrish <[email protected]> wrote: Not sure how many of you are active redditors, but, I figured it may be worth while to get exposure there, as there is quite a sizable linux community there. There is already a subreddit at http://www.reddit.com/r/lubuntu The sub seems to be dormant or dead with only one mod, that doesn't appear to be too active. I've sent him a message to try to get more mods to stimulate discussion there and reenergize the sub. Hopefully I hear back, and then we can add this to our arsenal of communication to get the word out about our favorite distro.
