Pi looks promising indeed. It could do with WiFi, but apart from that I think 
the rest one can work with. 

 Popcorn Hour is new to me, and certainly looks interesting, and it seems that 
apart from the odd bug, usability is not bad. The thing with most of these 
boxes that is perhaps less appealing is the seeming emphasis on 
death-by-feature-set. Also if I got this right, the price is on the order of 
$200? Jailbroken AppleTv is $99 (~350k in UG) + a bit of time/effort. With the 
open source XBMC installed, it's a little black gem. And of course because it 
does WiFi, fewer extra wires added, which is gratifying.
