Ok, then you need to remove the "%define gitdate". BTW: Better use %global instead of %define because %define only works until the end of an if... else statement while %global is valid throughout the whole spec. At least that's how it is on latest rpm 4.x series, not sure about rpm5 which you seem to be using.
