First, thanks to everyone who helped to develop
Lynx and to port it to Win98. I've used Lynx on
Unix for several years, and it's wonderful and
useful beyond belief.

SUMMARY OF PROBLEM
------------------

The mailto: URL of Lynx for Win 98 no longer works. I
get a message, "must specify recipient." I set it up
according to SENDMAIL.TXT, etc, and in fact,
at one time, the mailto: did work -- here's an example:

To:        <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Received: (qmail 974 invoked by uid 0); 3 Mar 2000 02:15:09 -0000
Received: from ip36.morristown9.nj.pub-ip.psi.net (HELO
netzero.net) (38.26.194.36)
  by mail16.wlv.netzero.net with SMTP; 3 Mar 2000 02:15:09 -0000
X-URL: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
X-Mailer: Lynx, Version 2.8.2rel.1
Subject: test 10 ly win98
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

So why won't it work now?

HERE ARE THE DETAILS:
---------------------

I have tried both
URL: http://www.jim.spath.com/lynx_win32/lynx_w32.zip
   and
2.8.2rel.1 (last stable) from fdisk.com (this is
the version that worked originally).

I am running Windows 98. BTW other mailers, including
Pine, are working fine.

I DID PUT LYNX IN THE PATH (in autoexec.bat):

  <DOS WINDOW>

Microsoft(R) Windows 98
   (C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1981-1999.
C:\WINDOWS>path
PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM;\C:\LYNX
C:\WINDOWS>

  </DOS WINDOW>

MY SENDMAIL LINE (ON ONE LINE) FROM LYNX.CFG:

SYSTEM_MAIL:sendmail -f [EMAIL PROTECTED] -h netzero.net
                       -r mail.netzero.net -m SMTP

also tried (on one line):

SYSTEM_MAIL:c:\lynx\sendmail -f [EMAIL PROTECTED]
              -h netzero.net -r mail.netzero.net -m SMTP

MY LYNX.BAT:

@ECHO OFF
set term=vt100
set home=c:\lynx
set temp=c:\temp
set lynx_cfg=c:\lynx\lynx.cfg
c:\lynx\lynx.exe %1 %2 %3 %4 %5

HERE'S THE WHAT LYNX REPORTS AFTER I USE
THE MAILTO:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Sending your message...
Sending your comment:
$ c:\lynx\sendmail -f [EMAIL PROTECTED] -h netzero.net
SMTP @c:\temp\00034bf3.blt
Please wait...Must specify recipient

The mailto feature is very convenient and I use it a lot.

CAN ANYONE SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

Jackson
