Did you notice that you talking about markup?
For DocBook (and xml) I need this as much as bread...
I also think that this is the way to go.
One example from docbook, there the name should contain the first name and the
surname. The way this is implemented now it is a bit tricky (to say the least) with
this support I would be able to have a simple layout name and then a firstname and
a surname attribute. Easy and WYSIWYM.
This is one of the many examples, so when do we start? ;)
