It works when you don't define a PDF->PNG converter and use the convertDefault.py version I once applied to fix bug 2418. For this not only IM > 6.1.4 (?) is needed but also Ghostscript >= 8.x (version 8.0 is three years old I think) Ghostscript 7.07 is buggy in this point.
What's your Ghostscript version?
IM adresses EPS and PDF to Ghostscript and grabs only the result.
