Not my fault... ;-)

We agree on this:

a) sometimes the user wants to edit settings after loading/editing, and
sometimes not (most of time IMO);

b) there are two distinct functions.

We disagree on this: should the dialog be always kept displayed after load/edit,
or always hidden?

* You think that it should be always displayed because of UI guidelines.

* I think that it should be always hidden because of b). For my part, priority
should be given to functions separation over UI guidelines. I also make my
opinion on practice I had until now with the two options. Closing the dialog is
from far better to me. IMHO, guidelines are good, but you have to consider
practice as well, especially if UI design is already imperfect.
