OK. I deleted lyxrc and preferences from .lyx (and downloaded this morning's
CVS for good measure). I still get the complaints from make, presumably
because I don't have notangle, but it just touches listerrors, which seems
to be what build-listerrors is supposed to do.
But I've still got some problems.
First I'll just note that I get a whole bunch of these:

But they're just warnings, so maybe they don't matter.
Preferences is still weird for me. I'm running src/lyx, and I haven't done
an options/reconfigure, and I'm only trying Apply instead of Save, because I
don't want to mess up my .lyx directory until I'm sure the latest CVS works
for me. (I'm actually using LyX for thesis writing these days. So I probably
shouldnt' be testing the latest versions at all :) So maybe that's causing
some problems. But:
- I still get errors about unknown tags in lyx-devel/lib/lyxrc.defaults. Why
is relyx_command in lyxrc.defaults (of the latest CVS) if it's not a known
tag?
- Changing screen zoom and hitting apply still gets a
FormPreferences::Colors::apply: resetting LColor inset frame from "black"
to "indian red".
The screen zoom does change correctly. Changing font names also works.
- Changing color of background or foreground, for example, doesn't have any
result in LyX when I hit apply. Although the color does stay selected in
the color form.
- Browsing to find .../american.kmap and hitting apply has no effect. The
american.kmap disappears, the radio button is reset, and the special keys
aren't.
Any thoughts? Am I the only one experiencing these problems because I'm
running from src/lyx?
