| Just a general thought:

| I'd probably want to be able to run both versions of lyx.. especially if
| you discover that something works in one version but not in the other.

| What about having a shell script that launches the correct binary
| depending on a flag?

The future plan is to have the frontends as plugins (kindo), so you
just use

lyx --frontend qt
lyx --frontend xforms

or we just use a wrapper script to accomplish this.

Compilation wise the plugin variant is best, but the wrapper way is
easy and can be done right away.

But not for 1.3.0.
