This list is only for the documentation; it may be worth repeating the
technical material on the users forum.

But, having frequently to transfer stuff between LyX and Word, may I
offer two tips - if you do drafts in Word, export them as text to LyX.
If you do drafts in LyX, export them as HTML (if it is installed on the
Windows version) and then copy and paste into Word.

The latter will be most helpful once you get the hang of BibTeX,
somewhat long-winded to set up the first time but an invaluable
timesaver once you get used to it, because all your references will be
transferred - though of course cross-references become meaningless.

Indeed, I never use page number cross-references in anything I need to
export to Word - use floats and lots of sections and label them.

Also create tables in Excel (avoiding commas within cells); then you can
embed them in Word and export them as CSV for inclusion in LyX
