Assuming that this is reproduced verbatim, it might indicate a problem
with the character encoding in the .bib file. The extra spaces in
'@ARTICLE' may prevent BibTeX from recognizing the entry type. When I
encounter extra spaces like that, it usually turns out to be software
expecting an 8-bit encoding and finding a 16-bit encoding. (At least I
think that's the problem.)
