This is not very helpful - I know. It looks like the test for document classes aborts too early. The configure.py script (which does the work for reconfigure) discards all output not starting with + and hides the error messages to diagnose the cause of the problem. :( I propose to create a ticket in LyX trac here: http://www.lyx.org/trac/newticket Stephan
