Hi Liviu, I have no idea why there is a missing \end_layout. I have never edited the source of the lyx file before, how can that line be missing? This afternoon I managed to open the lyx file in my way (described in the previous messages) and re-composed the report. Really time consuming and frustrated, but it's done by now. I do not dare to try the solution you provided. Anyway, thanks for your help.
