Hi All,

From past posted questions, I know that some list members have been interested
in accessible cooking apps on the Mac and iOS devices. SoupMaster is an
iPhone app with a huge number of soup recipes that has just gone free for a
limited time, and appears to be very accessible. The main recipes page has an
alphabetic list of different soups and soup categories, or you can flick right
to the search field and type in search terms. There's also a table index strip
along the right side of the screen, so you can either flick up or down to
navigate to categories beginning with "a", "b", "c", etc. or use the double tap
and hold pass-through gesture while on the table index, and move directly to a
letter before lifting your finger (e.g., move to "l" or "m" by doing the
pass-through gesture and moving vertically half-way down the table index to get
to the middle of the alphabet).

There's a button at the top of the screen just after the name and rating that
will allow you to add the recipe to your "to do" list (or remove it once
added), so you can quickly pull up the recipe by switching from the "Recipes"
button at the bottom left corner of the screen, by double-tapping the "ToDo"
button at the bottom center of the screen. You can also share recipes by email
by double tapping the "Action" button in top right corner of the recipe screen.

I haven't been able to mark favorites, but I'm posting this so others can try
this out while it's still free. Seems fairly nice. Flick over the (long) name
for the soup image just after the button for adding to the "ToDo" list so you
can get to the summary preparation and cooking times, and move on to the
ingredients and methods lists.

Here's the URL at the App Store:

Cheers,

Esther
