Hi, Esther,

I've followed your directions for rating a recipe and then either it already
going into favorites, or being able to addd it to favorites, but I can't get
the recipe in no matter what I do.

Adding the recipe to the todo list works fine, and in there is a list of the
recipes I've added, so its' like a favorites list, but I'd still like to be
able to add to the favorites with the method youve described.

Any other tips or tricks you can suggest would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

Marcy

Hi Colin and Others,

In SoupMaster the button to add to (or remove from) the "To Do" list not
labeled as a button but as an image, but has the letters "b t n" included in
the name as a clue. Flick right from the name of the recipe at the top of the
screen to "Rating", then flick again to the next item that sounds like
VoiceOver is saying "add todd oh BTN PNG image". This is actually a button, and
you can set the rotor to characters and flick down to hear the characters read
one by one. When you double tap it, your recipe will be added to the "To Do"
list that you can access from the "To Do" button at the bottom center of the
screen, just above the Home button. Now when you flick to this control, you'll
hear that the label has changed, and VoiceOver will announce this as "already
todd oh BTN PNG image". If you double tap again, the recipe will be removed
from the entries of the "To Do" list screen.

As far as using the "Favorites" button, it appears that you need to be able to
rate the recipe in order to mark it as a favorite, and show up on the screen
for the "Favorites" category (designated by the third of the three buttons at
the bottom of the screen). But the rating field is not being announced by
VoiceOver. I got around this by holding the iPhone in my left hand, and moving
my thumb down the left side of the screen until it was on the button that said
"Rating". Then I toggled VoiceOver off by triple clicking the Home button, and
lightly touched the screen to the right of my thumb. I got the best results by
stroking from left to right, starting from the end of my thumb. The further
to the right you stroke, the higher the rating will be, although you'll only be
able to tell how the rating came out if you double tap the "Favorites" button
at the bottom right corner of the screen so that the recipe is added to your
"Favorites". These are grouped under categories
of "5 stars", "4 stars", etc. It doesn't matter if the recipe was only rated
"1 star" -- as long as you managed to rate it, it will show up under
"Favorites" when you double tap that button. If you choose to rate it again
(e.g., by toggling VoiceOver off again on the "Recipes" screen, and stroking
further to the right of "Rating"), it simply gets reclassified on the
"Favorites" screen by moving to the new category. Entries on the "To Do" and
"Favorites" screens can be deleted in the normal way, via an "Edit" button in
the top right corner. When you double tap the "Edit" button, there will be
"Delete" switch buttons to the left of each recipe entry, and double tapping
any of these to set the delete "switch button" to "on" will remove the entry.
The "Edit" button in the top right corner of the screen has now become a "Done"
button, that you double tap when you want to leave delete mode.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
