Can you give us more information regarding what you're using here because to be honest it's a little difficult to help you because of the recent changes in Apple's hardware. Are you talking about a new or relatively new machine? If you're talking about an older one, then the Command+R option may not apply. Do you have another Mac by any chance? If so I would be happy to send you the recovery tool. Do you happen to have a machine capable of burning disk images to DVD, if you're using an older machine? Since you have an Apple ID there would be nothing wrong with me making the actual OS available to you so that you could burn a DVD and thereby recover your system even if it means doing the Lin install and then upgrading via the App Store to Mountain Lion.
