Hi Josh

I could provide you with the DVD image that you could burn from Windows if you
need that. Let me know, (off list). But before you do, make sure you meet
these requirements. 1. You have wired internet, not wireless. 2. You've
tried both Command+R and Option+R (this is only because I cannot remember which
one the recovery option is. Now, just to be clear. You said yesterday I
believe that you were working without a display. Which machine is this you're
actually using? Also, I still don't understand how you've managed to erase
your Macintosh HD if you were booted from it. Disk Utility won't allow you to
do that as far as I know. So I'm starting to wonder whether you have a
hardware failure.

The thing is Josh if you do have a zapped hard drive, the recovery restore is
firmware-based, so it would do that automatically if you meet the above
conditions. If you have wired Internet and there is no content on the hard
drive, it goes away and gets it from the Apple Servers, subject to your
eligibility.

Given that you've already installed the operating system, you must be eligible
to do so again. Therefore, something else has to be going on here. Do you by
any chance have a second Mac? If so, you could use target mode.

Again, if you need the DVD of Lion, let me know and I'll try to arrange a
Windows-compatible burn image for you.

Hmm will try it. How can I get the disc image? Mom says there's just a
folder with a question mark on the screen.
