Hi Phil, Aside from the different layout that you get on the iPad with some apps, which some folks like and others don't, there are advantages to having more than one device. It's sort of depends on how much you use your phone every day. I know that I could not do everything on my phone that I do on my phone plus my iPad, simply because the battery would run out. And I do like the sound of the larger speaker or bigger cabinet or whatever it is on the iPad. So I do most of my reading an radio listening on the pad. Mary
