Has anybody ever bought something from OWC?
Is there some other cost with OWC I am missing?

Hi,

I have bought two or three things from OWC via online ordering and then having them ship to my home in Canada, and I have been very satisfied. As you say, they have so far always used U.S. Postal Service. The stuff seems to get here amazingly fast and I don't think I have had any "surprises" with things like brokerage charges as often happens when U.S. vendors use a courier like UPS.

I was so happy with OWC that I bought 4 Gigs of RAM directly from them at their booth at Macworld Expo a couple of weeks ago - got the memory for a slightly lower price than they are selling them for now online, and of course got to bring them home with me so no extra shipping cost. This will take my G5 tower from 1.5 to 5.5 Gigs of memory!!

Good luck!

PS: one tip - if you have any use at all for an OS X hard drive utility program, note that OWC sells Drive Genius for about $30.00 U.S. cheaper than the price charged by the software developer itself on their web site. I think this began with OWC wanting to bundle it with hard drive orders, which may be why they could discount the software, but then they expanded this to allow people to just order the software alone at the same great price. I got it and have been pleased with it, although (knock on wood) I have to say that OS X has been stable enough that I really have not encountered any hard drive emergencies yet.
