I use iSync very sparingly with t610 and z600 but I find i have to concentrate so hard on not getting it wrong that it is almost as easy doing it manually :0] I have an Address Book group for syncing to each phone but I have never managed to get around the little cluster of entries under dot or dot dot... it is a fields things.

I have often wished there was a way that you could get to the end of the year or second year and just "tear off" the bottom end of the diary for storage somewhere as an rtf export. At the moment I see no option to soldiering on with an ever growing file which will ultimately explode. i used to keep a work diary running in iCal but it just got too slow and worrying - I like the applications which store the data as text or rtf in a separate file so if something breaks you have not lost everything. I have started using viJournal for my work records and, though there was a slight blip when I updated to 10.3.8 it seems to be a more sensible way of keeping such important information.

I use iCal for appointments only now and it seems to be fine. I publish some of the diaries automatically to allow colleagues limited access and I find it works pretty well. I don't think it is amazing but it does what I need.

The most recent one I had was in 10.3.7. Unplugged my phone from it's USB

Mark (and also anybody else using iSync with a mobile phone), what's your
general feeling regarding iSync? I used it on my iMac under Jaguar for a
few months and was quite impressed - it was rock solid. But in March/
April I moved over to using it on my iBook under Panther and it's slowly
driven me up the wall. This is with a Sony/Ericsson T610 and Palm Zire.

Early on it used to crash about 1 time in 3 and the next sync would
duplicate a load of my iCal entries. The Panther updates have fixed the
crashing but I still get duplicated calendar entries on a regular basis...

...which brings me onto iCal. Is anybody else using this in anger? The
duplicated entries don't help the fact that iCal is slowly grinding to a
halt on my iBook. OK, it's "only" an 800MHz G3 but...it's just a calendar
app! I seem to have to double- or triple-click on entries just to get
some kind of recognition. When syncing I'm told that there are currently
about 5000 entries in the calendar, presumably due to my repeating items
- is this too much? Are there any other calendar apps that I can use for
home and work and also sync?
