Thanks for that. When I set up a G5 iMac recently, I didn't see a MacOS 9 disk with the kit. Maybe I blinked ...
From memory, both my Mac Mini and Powerbook came with OS9. At least for the
Powerbook, it came in a sort of double-pouched envelope, with the OS DVD on one
side, and the Mac OS9 disc on the other. The Mini here at work definitely comes
with an OS9 install disc, I just checked :-)
Thanks again Marcus - You say dual boot - so do I take it you cannot rely on 'Classic' for full compatibility testing?
I'd like to avoid having to tell this guy to buy a second hand Mac - particularly as his buying a MacMini and being a happy camper will have a ripple effect. He's a major opinion leader on that PC platform dominated list.
Good point. We have an old G4 tower that we use to boot between the two OSes,
with the Mini just used for development in OSX. I can't think why Classic
wouldn't do the job, but we prefer to dual boot as we're testing CD/DVD
products as well as web products. I would have thought a web browser under
Classic would be just fine though.
