Firefox is dog slow and slightly unstable in OS X, although I do use it compulsively in Windows, where it's lightning fast and really nice. With Safari already being around and Mozilla already having other, IMHO better, efforts underway for OS X, I think FireFox's OS X version is for the moment something of a token gesture. I'd like to see Camino and FireFox OS X rolled into one project and a Cocoa version of FireFox for OS X. That really would give Apple something to compare Safari to! >He, he :-) I feel a browser flamewar coming... > >I prefer Camino because it feels a bit faster. It's only unstable on my systems when using 3rd party extensions such as Windows Media Player (*ka-spit*), Real and Flash/Shockwave. In itself as a simple browser it's fine. Only thing that I've managed to crash it doing recently is dragging a URL into a bookmark folder. >There's >nothing worse than getting three-quarters of the way through a 2 hour >radio program, only for Safari to beachball and then die :-( I don't listen to internet radio unless it's avaiable as a stream I can use in iTunes. Most of the time I am using the bandwidth for other things anyway, like online games (on my PC, sadly) and video conferencing with friends. Safari is a good browser. Firefox is better in Windows, but I strongly suspect Tiger will bring a newer, better, faster Safari with more features (hopefully useful ones - we don't want it to turn into MSIE ;). -- Mark Benson http://homepage.mac.com/markbenson -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[email protected]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
