? Do you guys look at the same ebay as I am? Got a 1.3ghz IBM Thinkpad
x24 looking brand spanking new for 250, got a old 500mhz dell for 28
quid, looked a bit tired but runs linux just fine.
As for osx, not all grey discs work on all machines. I have a whole
drawer full of em, will see if there are any universal one and offer
them on the list, that cool?

HI
Ditto, prices are getting silly on ebay (A friend wants a PII laptop
(Nasty) for email you cannot get one for much less than 100GBP!)
anyone have any idea for other sources of 10.3, I have tried amazon
with little success
Cheers

I was trying recently to track down a copy of Panther for my G3/600
iMac (with reference to the earlier thread, it works extremely well
and is a huge step forward from 10.1.5 - I've seen the light at
last!) and I had trouble tracking down a copy on eBay for what I
thought was a reasonable price. Being a cheapskate I objected to
paying more than £30 + p&p for what is now a passed over OS. Even
Jaguar seemed to be going for £20. eBay seemed flooded with "grey"
installer discs from eMacs which I was not entirely convinced would
work with my iMac.
I did eventually strike lucky with an £18 buy from New Zealand(!) but
I remain bemused by the prices people seem willing to pay on eBay.
Or perhaps I'm just becoming a "grumpy old man" - bah humbug!

Even if it's possible you should really upgrade OS X as 10.1 is
really a beta and not worth hanging onto. If you qualify you can get
the latest version, 10.4, for only £50 at Apple's Education store,
otherwise you should be able to get at least 10.2 on eBay for very
little money:
