I got given a beige G3 Desktop - latest rev with a nice inbuilt graphics
card for my daughter. It was free except the time I have spent trying
everything I can think of to sort its random crashing makes it not at all
cheap! - and so far I seem to have lost. Hard freezes happen at any random
moment.Too often to live with.
I am pretty certain it is not a software problem now having completely wiped
and started fresh - zapped pram - DiskWarrior etc and have tried swapping
ram such that I don't believe it is ram either.
The ide cable to HD looks a bit like it has been crimped pretty badly but I
have no idea if this is a culprit.
Seems a shame to dump it. I'd be into trying other parts etc but havent got
any money really. I imagine there are piles of these things around or being
dumped as they rarely sell for much anymore - but they run Mac OS9 ok.
So what am I rambling on about?
any last ideas - offers of cheap parts or even someone else who wants to
test their machood and maybe succeed where I failed?

all the best
Brian
