A friend of mine lives in an old house in Calne, Wiltshire with thick stone walls. His Panasonic cordless phone seems to work fine, whereas he needs to be pretty careful about where he goes when it comes to 802.11g signal strength (Netgear wireless ADSL router and PCMCIA card).

My Sony T610 mobile, which is pretty hopeless when it comes to handling poor signal strength, might as well be in a lead-lined box buried five miles underground when I walk through his front-door.
