Doh, should have remembered this earlier...

Tiger does load quicker but only because not all kernel extensions are
loaded at startup...they are loaded as needed dynamically. I saw an Apple
Tech or Developer article about this but can't remember where just
now...this could be the cause of the problems...Because the extensions are
not yet loaded it could assume this is a BT mouse or otherwise cause
problems...do you need to power down the Mini or can you just sleep it?
(Sleeping it would save you this problem until a smart person comes along
and can tell you how to start a script during startup to load this
extension???
