Hi Eric, *,
Sure, but you push your ideas (and that is fine) - and your opinion as
lead of the project of course is important (that is fine as well).
I just answered, and I don't care if the discussion is not perfect.
You seem to always throw everything into one pot, instead of focusing on the
one single
topic that is being discussed. Here again. You start about documenting code
and stuff, but this is all distracting from the topic here.
Pavel started to pretend something wrong about me. I just clarified the
situation, and sorry if what I answered you is not what you expected.
And I'll do exactly the same answering your questions.
That doesn't matter in that case. This is not a build that is advertised
to the public,
If I'm not wrong, this build has been announced on releases, and on
[EMAIL PROTECTED] A lot of people subscribed those lists, and the limit
public/ not public is difficult to define here.
this is not a server that is advertised to the public/end user - so
that doesn't matter at all. The development snapshots are "use at your own
risk" - and when it breaks, of course you should be thankful about the
feedback.
The feedback we had from the first and second development snapshot is
extremely important, and release early, helped a lot to save time : we
saved at least one month releasing those two early snapshots.
So if Maho is out of diskspace, he will either reduce the number of locales
or ask somebody else to host parts of the builds.
I'd like to see the stats first: I bet some locales have been downloaded
0 time.
Again, I'm thankful that he provides
those builds, although I personally don't have a use for many of them.
Of course. Same for me. For Mac port, and until we get stable, I'll do
my own builds.
Again: Why do you care? It is Maho's/Good-Day's infrastructure - it is
taking up disk-space, yes. But does this matter? How are you concerned personally,
how does this concern the Mac-Port as a whole?
This is a Macport issue to provide builds, whatever happens. Today, this
is Maho job, I agree.
Now, If Maho does not have enough place or whatever problem with Good
Day ( nobody expects such issue, but .. ),
"we" (the Mac porting project) must search a solution for Maho : we have
to care about all possibilities, even the bad one.
Or put otherwise: Why do you want to tell Maho what he is "allowed" to upload
and what to omit?
The point was: provide broken builds is useless, and discuss before
provide them would have helped to either not provide broken builds or
find a solution.
(I'm sure you will reply that you don't command anybody to do something, but
this is only a matter of interpretation)
Definitely : Maho, but other contributors do what they want : they are
free.
And that's a good thing.
Waiting, we announced broken builds, not starting at all. What do you
propose if people complain ?
