I've run into an unusual problem with my G5 running OS 10.5.2. It began after I transferred some things via firewire from the G5 to my daughter's new macbook last night and had trouble getting the G5 released by the macbook when we were done. an apple tech guy said to shut down the G5 and it wouldn't do any harm. I also installed some software updates last night from apple. Today I've noticed the G5 frequently restarting on its own and it sometimes is after 15 or 20 minutes I think. I am using time machine with a western digital 500 gigabyte external drive. I have run repair preferences and disk repair and that didn't seem to help. I will enormously appreciate any suggestions--I'm afraid I did some significant damage to the computer with the firewire transfer problems. Thanks for suggestions--Ben Zion Hershberg
