Robert - I think some of us are getting confused about your setup, or maybe its just me... The private emails (I'm guilty too) probably aren't helping. Is this what you have?
7100---Ethernet LAN (TCP/IP and AT)---950---LocalTalk (AT)---DuoDock---Printer1---Printer2 And you want the 950 to share files with the 7100 using Appletalk, and the both the 7100 and 950 to print to the printers? I'm still not sure what the Duo is doing in all this but here goes... So the problem is that you are trying to use Appletalk with different connections (Printer/Modem port and Ethernet). So your solutions are: 1) Give up on printing from the 7100 (how are you printing now?) and just keep switching your AT connection when you want to share files 2) Use the LocalTalk Bridge CP - I don't have experience with this but it seems like this is what it was designed to do but Ken's information suggest only certain printer can be bridged by it. 3) Use a physical bridge like a Dayna EtherPrint adapter - that will allow you to put the printers on the Ethernet LAN for the 7100 and 950 to access and keep using Appletalk via ethernet for file sharing but doesn't help you with the Duo which will be orphaned. The other problem is that it will transmit Appletalk over the Ethernet LAN - if the LAN has heavy traffic, this could be a problem since Appletalk is an inefficient protocol (i.e. lots of traffic). That's all I can think of... ~ta ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- >I _do_ have AppleTalk set to ethernet, and I can share files from the 950 to >7100 just fine, as I wrote before.
