Groups mode is a mode which has fallen into disfavor lately because of what has been mentioned. This bug of ignoring dynamically changing HTML has been a problem since the days of tiger. It's not just a matter that DOM mode gives you more information end-of-story. The reason for that is a bug probably in apple's webkit which needs to be fixed.
