Hi Eileen,
For me personally, speaking only for myself i consider low graphics environments to mirror mobile ones sometimes. these are browsers like links, and elinks, still under development on the open source side, but likely needing terminal to run Mac wise. I did not use a mac for my test. I was stunned that lynx, also still under development, generated an access denied error. That might explain some of the other problems as well. If the people maintaining these sites are not thinking strict keyboard response, i. e. they are using java scripting without making sure the java scripting still works with a keyboard, then many access platforms will have issues. Someone else will have to guide you on using a low graphics browser within the apple arena.
Your comment on Social security had me wondering in return.
I am rather surprised that the organization who spearheaded the requirement that the Social Security Administration must provide communications in various formats are not paying attention. SSa has changed to some ..non document thing that requires some sort of player software instead of the sort of rtf and readme.txt files that were there before. The cd sent is not even formatted as a data one anymore. Someone is not keeping track of how things are implemented in the long run.
Long answer to your short question smiles.
Kare

Hi,

I would like to ask what is meant by low graphics and how is it achieved? I
never heard of this term and would like to check it out myself. Currently,
there are no positions open that would match my skill set, but for the future
it would be great to be successful in submitting an application.

Thanks.

Actually Jason, your suggestion flipped a switch.
My sister has been a federal staffer for decades for the Center for disease
control.
Anyway I popped over to the usajobs.gov site in a low graphics, but java
friendly browser.
There is a section labeled "for people with disabilities,"
under this section, there is a directory of the sccp staff by department.
these people are specifically designated to facilitate application problems in
their respective agencies. Christine, I do not recall the position you are
seeking, but perhaps this is a direct door?
Hope this helps,
Kare

Here’s a little ironic twist for you: I sent a message to both my Senators

Interesting...

Perhaps you could identify and write to the section 508 coordinator of the
relevant US government department.
