You'll miss that thread. I recommend adding a thread-ID to a list (check out something like redis), then setting it to expire after 7 days. You'll need to send the offending message to a folder which a cron could pick up, check, get the ID from and then shove into redis. Probably 30 minutes of quick scripting.
