Hi Tim,

I agree with your comments.  Apple recommended installing over top of Lion, and 
I don't see any performance hits.  I also ran Disk Permissions Repair.  I also 
have a program called MacKeeper and it cleaned up a lot of files that were 
wasting space, over 1300 to be exact.
